People send fewer christmas cards every year. Obviously, a big deal for the Swedish Post. To make them relevant again in a time of texts, instant messages and tweets, we presented a whole new way of creating them.
The idea was quite simple: People want to use simple, digital tools to send christmas greetings, but they like to get real, unique cards in the mail slot.
On the top of a mountain in northern Sweden, the perfect setting for christmas cards where built. Snow, sunsets, Santa and of course, eight living reindeers. Everything was live streamed with four cameras during december. People could take their own photos on the website, write greetings and send it as a real christmas cards, all from the comfort of their browser. The results? For the first time ever, the negative trend of christmas cards changed to positive.
